Oh noo.. Cultures!

Fyi, Indonesia has many tribes and different cultures, mine is Karonese. In Karo tribe, cultures and manners are really important to define your family level. The core value of Karonese cultures are family and how you serve others.

If you meet karonese wherever you go, it feels like home. Not try to overrated, but that's the fact. They will treat you like you are their close family; even out of sudden, you find the fact that your boss is karonese, you can easily promoted, especially when you perform.
That's a good thing though but sometimes that conventional ways are totally bored when you live in modern life.

Here I give you one of shocking cultures that I never had before in my previous experience with Karonese people.
This become my habit to wash my own plate, spoon and fork whenever I finish my dishes at my friends' house though I see many plates remained on the sink. The awkward moment was the parents of my karonese friend taught me that I'm lack of manner because I'm not washing all the plates. Err, I'm speechless. But, that's the fact. If you Karonese, you even should serve the owner of the house, especially to the older. You're not considered as a guest anymore, yet a child of them. You should serve them as well as you serve your own family.

Because I grew up in modern life, it's become awkward for me but I try to learn the cultures as well. Yeah, for sure, for my goodness sake.
